Carnegie debut preview recital by violinist Ariana Kim

EVENT:       Chamber Music Society of Minnesota invites you to a free   recital by its artist member, violinist Ariana Kim, with pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute. The concert, presented by Augstana Concert Series, will be a preview of  Ariana’s upcoming Carnegie debut recital at Weill Hall, as a winner of the Artists International Special Presentation Award.

Ariana is a St. Paul native and made her solo debut with the Saint Paul Chamber  Orchestra at age 16. Since then she has performed all the major concertos as well as a new concerto, written for her by the late Andrew Imbrie, with orchestras  both in the U. S. and Europe. This recital will be one of her three Minnesota appearances- the others are: Mozart Concerto with Dakota Valley Symphony on Feb. 23/24 and Beethoven Concerto with the Austin Symphony on April 4.

Ariana is also the newly appointed concertmaster of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans and co-resides there and New York where she is completing her Doctoral dissertation at Juilliard and performs with a very innovative new music group Ne(x)tworks which records for MODE records.
